Community Agreements

Welcome to Show-Score! We're a community of people who love theatre and want to help others find the right shows for them. To make sure reviews are helpful, fair, and respectful, we ask all members to follow these guidelines when sharing their opinions.

Reviews that violate these guidelines are subject to removal without explanation. For more information, visit Why has my review disappeared from the site?

1. Only review shows you've seen in full

Please do not score a show if you left early, only saw a portion, or attended a non-public dress rehearsal or preview.

Why it matters: Reviews based on partial experiences can be misleading. Full, first-hand accounts help others make confident decisions about whether to see the show.

2. Avoid conflicts of interest

If you're involved in the production—either directly or indirectly—or have a personal or professional relationship with someone involved, please do not review it.

Why it matters: Our community relies on reviews they can trust. Even the appearance of bias can undermine that trust.

3. Be clear, constructive, and respectful

If something didn't work for you, say so–just be respectful and clear about why. Focus on the production itself, not the people involved, and think about what would be helpful for someone deciding whether to see the show.

The following will not be tolerated:

  • Language that ridicules or attacks, rather than critiques
  • Commentary about individuals rather than their work
  • Discriminatory language or profanity
  • Political or ideological commentary that is unrelated to the show's content, themes, or intent
  • Remarks about an individual's race, age, gender, appearance, disability, religion, or other personal traits that are unrelated to the show's content, themes, or intent

Why it matters: Great reviews don’t just share an opinion. They help others feel confident about what to see next. When we keep feedback respectful and focused on the show itself, we make Show-Score a place where every theatregoer feels welcome, informed, and excited to discover something new.

Score a show you've seen and help others decide if it's the right show for them.
