The story of Live Aid is brought to life in this new musical packed with iconic anthems.
On 13 July 1985, two stadiums, one cause, and a lineup of global superstars changed music history. Just For One Day tells the story of Live Aid—the unprecedented concert event that brought 1.5 billion people together across continents to raise money for famine relief. From backstage tensions to breakout performances, this new musical charts the chaos, courage, and collective hope behind “the day rock ‘n’ roll changed the world.”
Following a sold-out world premiere at The Old Vic in 2024, where it became the venue’s fastest-selling musical in the venue's history, Just For One Day now transfers to the West End’s Shaftesbury Theatre. The show is written by John O’Farrell (Mrs. Doubtfire) and directed by Luke Sheppard (& Juliet, The Little Big Things), with a cast performing legendary hits from artists including Queen, U2, Elton John, David Bowie, Madonna, The Who, and more.
