Set in Dublin in 1982, sixteen-year-old Conor is struggling with family issues, feeling out of place at his new Catholic school, and facing a dead-end life. When he meets Raphina, a cool girl seeking modeling opportunities, he decides to impress her by hiring her for a music video, despite not having a band to showcase.

As Conor and his friends come together to form a band, Sing Street celebrates young love and the uplifting power of music, all set to the vibrant sounds of the 80s new wave.
