A dance production exploring themes of youth, rebellion, and the search for belonging.
In 1973, Pete Townshend of The Who wrote "Quadrophenia," an iconic album that defined a generation and inspired the 1979 cult classic film. Now reimagined as an explosive dance production, this Mod Ballet introduces audiences to the troubled mod Jimmy's story, staying true to the original's spirit. Set against a rich orchestral version of the album by Rachel Fuller, first performed at The Royal Albert Hall and recorded by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, the production delves into 1960s mythology—sharp suits, soul music, Vespas, and parkas—while addressing timeless themes of lost youth, rebellion, the search for belonging, and the hunger for social change.
