One-act queer horror dramedy set in 2048, staged at Theater for the New City.
Set in the year 2048, the play follows Harper, a transmasc medical student, who returns to a childhood campsite on the shores of Lake Michigan. Joined by best friend Olive and Olive’s girlfriend Gray, Harper seeks comfort in a place untouched by the devastation elsewhere in the country. Drought, wildfire, and food scarcity have consumed much of the land, yet the camp’s grass remains improbably green, watched over by a looming elm tree.
As the three friends attempt to navigate their personal bonds, they are forced to confront the disturbing power that sustains their supposed sanctuary. Their struggles intertwine questions of survival, loyalty, and the haunting costs of protection.
