A comic, theatrical takedown of capitalism through stand-up, spectacle, and performance art.

In we come to collect: a flirtation, with capitalism, OBIE Award-winning artist Jenn Kidwell and Brandon Kazen-Maddox, in collaboration with the artistic collective the blackening, present a new performance that interrogates the seduction of American capitalism. This world premiere blends elements of stand-up comedy, performance art, and carnival aesthetics to deconstruct prevailing myths about economic power. The work unfolds as a series of theatrical episodes that confront the mechanics of desire, labor, and value through humor and provocation.
