A multimedia solo show blending culture, identity, and love through humor, history, and ceremony.
In Those Who Remained, Sophia Gutchinov blends Indigenous ceremony, modern dating, and her Italian-Mongolian roots into a deeply personal multimedia solo performance. Through projections, comedy, and spoken word, she explores identity, love, and family history—from her grandparents’ WWII escape to her parents’ journey to New Jersey and her own return to her father’s homeland. Collaborating with diverse artists, she bridges cultures and traditions, using storytelling and neuroscience to examine memory, heritage, and the search for belonging.
