Teen friends battle a mall-based conspiracy in a video game–style comedy adventure.
Set over the course of a single Friday night, the play follows Naomi, Viv, and Charlie as they roam their local shopping mall in search of newly released Buffy the Vampire Slayer merchandise. When they discover that their favorite store has been violently ransacked, the friends set out to recover what was stolen. Their mission escalates as they uncover a larger conspiracy hidden within the mall, forcing them to navigate escalating dangers that threaten both their friendships and their sense of belonging.
The play is written by Phillip Kenner and directed by James Wyrwicz. Kenner’s writing centers on youth culture, fandom, and pop mythology, while Wyrwicz’s direction emphasizes heightened theatricality and genre storytelling. Together, they frame the mall as both a literal setting and a symbolic landscape shaped by nostalgia, consumer culture, and adolescent identity.
Structured like a video game, the play moves its characters through recognizable retail environments including Hot Topic, Hollister, and Build-A-Bear.
