Five actresses deliver an intimate, raw take on Chekhov’s play about artists at a country estate.
In Chekhov’s 1895 play, life mirrors an abandoned, worm-eaten stage by a lakeside, as a group of artists gathers at a country estate. This emotionally charged and stripped-down interpretation features five actresses seated around an oversized table, offering an intimate presentation of the Russian playwright’s "spectacle of waste" (The New Yorker). Directed by Guillermo Cacace, the Argentinian company—Muriel Sago, Paula Fernandez Mbarak, Romina Padoan, Clarisa Korovsky, and Marcela Guerty—makes their North American debut with this striking adaptation by Juan Ignacio Fernández.
