This Is Not a Drill is a new musical inspired by the real-life events of January 13, 2018, when residents and visitors in Hawaii received a false emergency alert about an incoming ballistic missile. Set over the course of a single morning, the show explores how people respond when faced with the possibility of imminent destruction—some seeking shelter, others reaching out to loved ones, all forced to confront the reality of their own mortality.

Created by Holly Doubet and based on her personal experience, the musical uses a soaring and emotionally resonant score to trace the stories of strangers and families grappling with fear, memory, and connection in the face of uncertainty.

Blending realism with musical storytelling, This Is Not a Drill captures a moment of collective vulnerability and examines the human instinct for meaning and compassion when time appears to run out.
