Dave, unemployed and alone, sits across from Stoddard, a government employee trained to persuade citizens into signing "The Bliss Option," a program that guarantees lifelong happiness through artificial means. As the two spar in a mandated meeting, their debate unfolds over whether embracing engineered bliss is salvation or suicide. The tension rises as each struggles to convince the other, shifting the balance of power within the confined space of the interview room.
The play is written by Andrew R. Heinze, whose works include Moses, The Author and Jews and the Great American Songbook. Co-direction is by Eva Minemar, a New Yorkโbased director and performer.
