Five women share mid-life stories in NYC through monologues and ensemble scenes.
Set in New York City in the year 2025, this newly devised production follows the lives of five women navigating the complex realities of mid-life. Through a blend of personal monologues and ensemble-driven scenes, the work addresses aging, identity, empowerment, and womanhood themes. The women explore the shifting nature of family, romantic, and maternal relationships, and self-image as they confront generational change and personal transformation in a fast-paced urban landscape.
The cast features Sora Baek, Cindy Keiter, Adina Taubman, Gabriela Kohen, and Susan Ward, all credited as writers and performers. The direction is led by Kelly O'Donnell, known for her work on Women of Williams County and The Church of the Alien Love Child Presents: The Passion of Reverend Yolanda. The collaborative nature of the production highlights a unified creative voice, built from the performers' lived experiences and perspectives.
The production team includes contributions from Rachel Saruski and Xandra Abney, with Abney also serving as the show's producer through Chrysalis Theatre Company. The ensemble-driven format, combined with its autobiographical source material, positions the piece as a theatrical meditation on personal truth and the intersections of age, gender, and place.
