Underground tells the lesser-known story of the Underground Railroad that led South, tracing the journey of enslaved individuals who escaped to freedom by crossing the Rio Grande into Mexico. The narrative follows a freedom seeker and an unexpected ally as they navigate danger, forge trust, and build a connection that defies borders and expectations.

This hip-hop musical uses live-looping, rhythm, and movement to reimagine a vital chapter of American history. After successful runs in multiple cities, the production now makes its New York City debut.
