A married couple living in the East Village is upended when Dea, a rising film actress, publicly confesses during a promotional Q&A that she killed her brother in self-defense. The revelation triggers a media frenzy, pushing the couple into crisis. Narrated from the perspective of Jay, Dea's husband and longtime partner since drama school, the story spirals further when Jay begins a fraught relationship with the non-binary adult child of Deaβs Hollywood agent. The piece traces the collision of public scandal and private unraveling.
The solo show is written and performed by Mark Blane (AppleTV+βs Little Voice, Cubby) and directed by Dante Fuoco (SEAL). Originally premiering Off-Off-Broadway in 2024, it received praise from Theatre Beyond Broadway for its structure and pacing. The production returns for a summer engagement in the intimate 20-seat Tiny Baby Blackbox Theatre, presented by Spit n' Vigor in the West Village.
