Blind Hamm, immobile, and Clov, who can't sit, clash in Beckett’s darkly comic end-of-days vision.

Samuel Beckett’s Endgame unfolds in a post-apocalyptic room where blind Hamm and his servant Clov, unable to leave or sit, confront the futility of routine and memory. Joined by Hamm’s elderly parents, Nagg and Nell—who live in bins—they navigate a static world teetering between comedy and despair.

This 50th anniversary production by Ireland’s Druid theatre company is directed by Tony Award-winner Garry Hynes (The Beauty Queen of Leenane), and stars Marie Mullen (Nell), Rory Nolan (Hamm), Aaron Monaghan (Clov), and Bosco Hogan (Nagg).

Presented at Irish Arts Center with support from Culture Ireland and the Arts Council of Ireland, the staging features design by Francis O’Connor, lighting by James F. Ingalls, and sound by Gregory Clarke.

Samuel Beckett's classic study of stasis, oppression, and (quite possibly) the end of the world derives much of its effect from the yawning gap between the characters' grandiloquent delivery and their appallingly tawdry circumstances.
