A modern reimagining of a classic tragedy, exploring the rise and fall of a tragic heroine.

Set in Cleo’s backyard, the story unfolds as Roy returns to town and Christine brings more than just basil—she brings revelations. Inspired by Arthur Miller’s All My Sons, A Woman Among Women invites audiences to witness the creation of a tragic hero, observe her dramatic downfall, and reflect on the concept of collective catharsis. This play is part of Jonas’s series, All Long True American Stories, a collection of five plays that reinterpret 20th-century male-centric stories for a broader range of perspectives, primarily women.

Directed by Sarah Cameron Hughes, the production reimagines American tragedy through a contemporary, female-centered lens. Presented by Lincoln Center Theater’s LCT3 with The Bushwick Starr and New Georges, it builds on earlier acclaim as a New York Times Critic’s Pick and is supported by The Harold and Mimi Steinberg Charitable Trust.
