Set during the Cold War, Chess follows two of the world’s top chess players locked in a rivalry that extends beyond the game itself. As they battle for dominance on the international stage, their competition is complicated by a love triangle that blurs the lines between loyalty, desire, and political ambition.
This Broadway production stars Tony Award® winner Aaron Tveit (Moulin Rouge!), Lea Michele (Funny Girl, Glee), and Nicholas Christopher (Sweeney Todd, Hamilton).
Featuring a score by Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus of ABBA with lyrics by EGOT winner Tim Rice (Evita, Jesus Christ Superstar), this revival includes a new book by Danny Strong (Dopesick, The Butler) and is directed by Tony Award winner Michael Mayer (Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Funny Girl).
